In my role as Young Professionals (YP) Global Convener I am responsible for driving the YP movement at an international level. I co-ordinate the activities of our active Young Professional Groups globally and represent Young Professional interests on the International Management Committee.

I have additional CILT responsibility as the Queensland Section Chair within CILT Australia and I represent Queensland and YPs on the Australian National Council. Formerly, I was the Asia Region Ambassador for YPs.

Having worked for various small and large transport operators in Australia and New Zealand, I felt a desire to expand my knowledge and gain professional recognition. I searched for a professional organisation to support my ongoing career development and discovered CILT.

Having adopted CILT as my career partner of choice, I have realised the tremendous value to be gained from an association with our organisation. Due in no small part to my participation in the CILT Mentoring Programme, I founded his own freight forwarding company in 2012.

Several high points during my membership of CILT include the Mentoring Programme, attendances at the CILT Annual Awards, International Conventions, alongside various networking events and technical visits.

I now have a strong desire to help grow the YP movement into an inclusive team that promotes the strength and unity that can only come with working together on a global basis.

YPs are the future of both CILT and all aspects of the transport industry in general. A flourishing transport and logistics industry must meet the ever-increasing demands that society demands. In order to support this growth and maturing, we need to work together to make our industry attractive to potential employees, as well as stakeholders generally.
