Over my 8 years within the Institute I have held several volunteer roles including regional committee member across the UK, and in 2016 I was elected by the membership to become a director of the Institute in the UK. This is something I am incredibly proud of as I can influence and support the decisions we make as an Institute for our members.

After graduating with a Masters in Supply Chain and Logistics I looked for a professional organisation to join in order to support my career and continue the learning journey. The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport was a natural fit for what I wanted. Particularly given the global reach of the organisation.

For me though, the most valuable part of being a member of CILT has been the global community I have been part of. Early on in my time with CILT I held the role of Deputy Global Convener, supporting the global team in building a future strategy for how we engage our Next Generation of members.

Outside of CILT my career has been supported by the Institute through mentoring programmes, learning courses, site visits and even awards evenings. All of these events have helped me build a network not just in the UK but around the world.

Having started work within retail distribution I held numerous leadership roles including Transport, HR and warehousing. I have enjoyed time working in supply chain consulting and as a General Manager for a FMCG warehouse in the UK. Most recently I joined a global manufacturing and construction company and currently run the warehousing operations across Northern Europe region.

My ambition in the role of Next Generation Global Chairperson is to continue the journey we have taken, and create a sustainable model for our regions to implement and drive membership engagement for the future.
