When and why did you decide to become a member of CILT?

I started my journey with CILT since 2010 when I met Mr Karmjit Singh, Chairman of CILT Singapore at a conference known as the Cold Chain Summit. Ever since then, Mr Karmjt has been a mentor to me, advising me on various matters such as my career progression.

What are the benefits of being a member of CILT?

Being a member of CILT has benefitted me greatly. For the past 9 years, I have gained valuable networking opportunities and personal guidance from CILT Singapore’s management, which lead me to who I am today, an inspiring youth entrepreneur.

To me networking really equates to knowledge. I would highly suggest people tap in to the wide network that CILT offers.

What difference has being a member of CILT made to your career?

A big difference. CILT Singapore has helped me to launch my first green warehouse toolkit in 2011 when I was a high school student. Following the guidance of Mr Karmjit and his team, the toolkit was a success as it was circulated among educational institutions and warehouses in Singapore.

In addition, the toolkit was instrumental to my application for my university as I managed to secure my placement in one of Singapore’s top universities.

What do you think the future holds for you and CILT?

For me and CILT I think there are many possibilities that we can co-create opportunities together. For example, inter-generation activities can be created among senior CILT and youth CILT members to learn from the experience and exciting ideas from both sides.

What message would you give to someone just starting out in CILT?

I would strongly encourage anyone to step forward to join CILT Singapore, as CILT provides networking opportunities that could not be found anywhere. To me networking really equates to knowledge. I would highly suggest people tap in to the wide network that CILT offers.
