I am Vivian, from China but I live in Melbourne, Australia. I’m a member of CILT Australia Victoria branch, and I work with Coles Group Australia.
When and why did you decide to become a member of CILT?
I decided to become a member in Aug last year as I see the platform and opportunities that CILT offers to different grade of members.
What are the benefits of being a member of CILT?
There is a lot of benefits being a member of CILT. Firstly, as an international logistics and transport institute with lots of branches worldwide, CILT provides support professionally and personally throughout career progression. We can see lots of opportunities for education & training programmes from the website. Other benefits like.. we can meet like-minded people – young professionals like myself or senior people, mentors with rich experience in different aspects of the industry. We also have a few networks in the industry… There are also global events to know more people and get exposure.

What difference has being a member of CILT made to your career?
CILT has made lot of difference of my career- mostly like.. I meet like-minded people in the industry, and we share experience together. I also had the chance to be nominated Young Professional and Woman in Logistics in National Awards last year.
What do you think the future holds for CILT?
About the future— CILT will have more influence internationally and logistics professionals will have more use of this platform to share their experience and expertise. It will bring people together and make changes to the industry, to become more promising and sustainable. And I will be part of it, making the changes and becoming part of the change.
What message would you give to someone just starting out in CILT?
The message I would like to give someone is: it’s a long journey with CILT. You will make the journey, and become part of the journey.
