I am fascinated by the country of Malawi having met some of our members there at conferences and on conference calls.

CILT Malawi is one of our most conscientious branches and has a strong focus on education and training, with many students taking our courses over the years. They understand the importance of international certification and quality education, and deliver it in such a way that puts many of us in more prosperous countries to shame. After all, Malawi is the 144th country in the world in terms of economic prosperity.

Covid-19 is a leveller though and CILT Malawi has put together a report on the situation in the country with a focus on the logistics and transport sector as well as the wider economic impacts. People’s lives and livelihoods are being threatened and responses are strong in fighting a difficult opponent.

Do read this article from CILT Malawi to see and understand what life is like in Malawi at present. We stand together in our profession, and sharing situations leads to solutions, created together. One day, when the virus is beaten, I will hopefully experience how that was achieved in Malawi and stand with my fellow professionals there talking to them about how they did it.

This is an example of industry analysis from Malawi which we are sharing as part of our global best practice resource to help you think about and determine appropriate responses locally.
