Accessibility

As a champion of inclusivity, it’s important that the Institute fosters an environment that is accessible to all and this extends to our website and digital tools.

This accessibility statement is for https://ciltinternational.org/

Our website has been updated to ensure that it complies with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 AA standard, from both a codebase and content perspective.

Each content area on https://ciltinternational.org/ is committed to remaining compliant with accessibility regulations.

What is WCAG 2.2 AA?

Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are a set of guidelines and requirements for content editors, designers and developers to facilitate better accessibility for individuals with disabilities. There are three levels of requirements to the guidelines, Level A, Level AA and Level AAA, with level A being the lowest, to the highest-Level AAA. The guidelines incorporate various accessibility features including screen reader compatibility, keyboard navigation and the size and colour of text.

How accessible is our website?

Our website is currently compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard. Implementing the WCAG 2.2 framework will allow for better website interaction, keyboard navigation visibility, accessible help tools and support that makes entering information easier.

We are continuously reviewing the accessibility of our website to better meet the needs of everyone, especially for disabled people.

Documents

Our website contains links to downloadable document, such as PDF files, which aren’t always fully accessible. We are currently reviewing the ways in which we can display accessible PDF formats for all. For future documents, we plan to make this content accessible for screen readers as well as using a combination of standard HTML/web pages supported by PDF files as required. Should you have difficulty accessing any downloadable documents or content, please email us and we will provide you with an accessible alternative.

Third-party resources

From time-to-time we may use third party resources on the website, including audio and video players which ‘embed’ content into the website. Whilst we have no control over these resources and how they transmit information, we will always ensure that they conform to the WCAG standards as best as possible.
