I am a director of transport law specialists Backhouse Jones, having joined the business as a trainee solicitor in 2003. Having qualified in 2005 I became a director of the business in 2011.

I have over 20 years’ experience of advising and supporting businesses in the transport and logistics sector including domestic and international carriage of goods by road, freight forwarders, 3PL providers, bus, coach and rail providers ranging from owner-operator businesses to large multinationals. My areas of expertise include commercial dispute resolution (both domestic and international), competition/antitrust disputes, business support, mediation, employment law and industrial disputes.

I am a big believer in education and enhancing professional development. I work closely with a number of trade associations who support the transport industry and am a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (I have been a member since 2003 and served for a number of years as secretary for Cheshire group). I am also a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and an accredited mediator with the Civil Mediation Council.

I am recognised by the legal directories as a leading transport lawyer. The skills I have developed over the years enable me to support the Institute whilst continuing to learn and develop as I meet other like-minded industry colleagues throughout the globe.
