Celebrating Our April Volunteer of the Month: Dr. MUGABO Patrick

CILT International is proud to name Dr. MUGABO Patrick from CILT Rwanda as our April Volunteer of the Month.
Dr. MUGABO Patrick has been a driving force behind the establishment, growth and strategic direction of CILT Rwanda. His contributions reflect an unwavering commitment to advancing the logistics, transport and supply chain profession, not only within his country but across the African region.

Founding Role
Dr. MUGABO Patrick played a pivotal role in establishing CILT Rwanda, laying a strong foundation for the organisation’s long-term sustainability.
Membership Growth
Since 2019, he has guided the steady expansion of the membership base, encouraging greater engagement across sectors.
Corporate Engagement
Through his efforts, two major corporate institutions have joined as members, increasing institutional collaboration.
Training Centre Development
Dr. MUGABO Patrick led the establishment and official launch of Rwanda’s first CILT-accredited training centre, Value Training Center. The centre celebrated its first graduating cohort during the 2025 Africa Forum.
Education Expansion
He is currently leading the development of two additional accredited centres, one based at a university and the other at a polytechnic institute, to expand access to professional training in the sector.
Event Leadership
Dr. MUGABO Patrick played a key role in organising and delivering the CILT Africa Forums held in Rwanda in 2023 and 2025. Both events were fully sponsored by his company, VALUE LOGISTICS, reflecting his commitment both in leadership and financial support.
Policy Advocacy
He is actively working to position CILT Rwanda as a national regulatory body for the transport profession. This initiative could have a transformative impact on professional standards and policy in the country.
Dr. MUGABO Patrick’s work exemplifies volunteerism rooted in passion, purpose and professionalism. His leadership and generosity continue to strengthen our Institute and the wider profession in Rwanda.

The Volunteer of the Month award honours the dedication and contributions of members who serve CILT in a voluntary capacity, generously giving their time, skills and passion to support our community and mission.
