The Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT) International Trustees are inviting applications for the role of Honorary Secretary.

Role and Responsibilities

As Honorary Secretary, you will:

  • Act as a Trustee of the Institute and provide advice and support to the Council of Trustees, the International Management Committee, and our Territorial Governing Bodies and International Branches on governance matters.
  • Support inductions of new Trustees, alongside the Secretary General.
  • Election of Honorary Officers

The Institute’s Charter and Bye-Laws provide for the appointment of the Honorary Solicitor, Honorary Secretary, and Honorary Treasurer. These appointments carry automatic membership of the:

  • Council of Trustees
  • International Management Committee
  • International Council

Eligibility: Appointees must be Institute Members (FCILT or CMILT).

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking an individual who:

  • Has trustee experience and understands the support roles that enable governance bodies to function effectively.
  • Can demonstrate the ability to interpret the Charter, Bye-Laws, and related governance topics.
  • Brings professional expertise in supply chain, logistics, and transport, with additional experience in education welcomed.
  • Shows strong leadership, effective teamwork, and a pragmatic approach to governance.

You will work closely with the Secretary General, who serves as the professional leader of the charity and CEO.
