Celebrating Our Volunteer of the Month – Robert Warn FCILT

Robert Warn FCILT is recognised as Volunteer of the Month for his decades of leadership, strengthening CILT Australia through governance, events and national safety initiatives.

Volunteers are at the centre of CILT’s global community, and this month we are pleased to recognise Robert Warn FCILT of CILT Australia for his exceptional and longstanding contribution to the Institute.

Robert’s involvement with CILT spans decades, with a level of consistency and commitment that has helped shape both the organisation and the wider transport and logistics sector in Australia. His work reflects not only dedication, but a clear sense of responsibility to strengthen the profession and those within it.

Driving national safety initiatives

One of Robert’s most significant contributions has been his role in establishing and leading national safety initiatives. He co-founded the Safeskies Conference, building it from concept into a recognised aviation safety forum that continues to influence industry practice today. Over more than two decades, he remained closely involved in its development, providing leadership, governance and financial oversight, and helping guide its transition into an incorporated body to ensure long-term sustainability.

Strengthening governance and regional reach

Alongside this, Robert has played an important role in strengthening CILT’s governance and regional presence. During his time as ACT Section Chair, he supported the incorporation of the Institute in the region and helped establish a new section in the Riverina Murray area, extending CILT’s reach into a key transport hub and building meaningful engagement with local industry.

Building a connected professional community

His impact has also been felt through the professional networks he has helped build and sustain. By bringing together leaders from across the military, government and private sectors, Robert has contributed to a more connected and collaborative community, reinforcing CILT’s position as a trusted professional home for those working in supply chain, logistics and transportation.

A lasting impact

Across governance, events, community engagement and sector development, Robert’s contribution has been both wide ranging and enduring. His service reflects the very best of volunteer leadership, with a focus on practical impact, long term thinking and supporting others within the profession.

We congratulate Robert on this well deserved recognition and thank him for his continued contribution to CILT and its global community.
