Travel & Visa Information
Sri Lanka is easily accessible from all major regions of the world, with Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) serving as the country’s primary international gateway. Located just 35 kilometres north of Colombo, BIA is well connected through frequent flights from key cities such as London, Dubai, Doha, Melbourne, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Delhi, among others. Leading international airlines including SriLankan Airlines, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways, and Singapore Airlines operate regular services, making travel to the Convention convenient for international delegates.
Most attendees will require a visa to enter Sri Lanka. The recommended process is to apply in advance via the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system at eta.gov.lk. Visa fees are approximately USD 22 for SAARC nationals, USD 50 for other nationalities, and USD 60 if applying upon arrival. However, to avoid delays at immigration, delegates are strongly encouraged to obtain their visas online prior to travel. Visitors will need a valid passport with at least six months’ validity, along with proof of return or onward travel and accommodation details.
