With air transport recognised as one of the most challenging sectors to decarbonise, the International Civil Aviation Organization, whose members include Australia, has an aspirational goal of net zero carbon emissions by 2050. Sustainable aviation fuels, streamlined flight operations and new aircraft technologies are the identified means to get there.
CILT Australia welcomes Stephen Forshaw, Chief Representative and Head of Country for AIRBUS in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific to discuss the aviation decarbonisation challenge and the outlook for shorter term, medium term and longer-term responses to it, including the company’s own ambition to bring to market the world’s first hydrogen powered commercial aircraft by 2035.
