Jan joined the Council of Trustees as International Vice President in June 2013 and he is now working as the Supply Chain Director for Connect Education and Care, part of the Connect Group Plc. He has previously held similar roles in Tata Steel, Dentsply International and Remington Consumer Products.

With more than 25 years’ experience in end-to-end supply chain management, Jan is a sought after conference speaker and guest lecturer, having been heavily involved in all aspects of supply chain management but with a particular focus on training, education and talent development.

Speaking of his appointment Jan said:  “I am truly honoured and delighted to have been selected as the new Chairman of the International Education Standards Committee.

“We’re a great organisation undergoing significant change, most recently introducing our new brand as well as a new strategy. The three pillars of that strategy are Growth, Capability and Governance with education playing a key role in delivering results. For that to happen we have become better at leveraging the combined expertise we have across the world in a much more structured way, hence our request for all branches and territories to appoint local Education Champions, who will be the key people developing and delivering our ambitious plans for the institute in education as members of the IESC.

We’ll soon have an up-to-date international offering at Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma levels, but there are a multitude of additional courses being offered by branches and territories in the local areas and we will look to promote those globally through the introduction of a global education catalogue in the near future. This will be another priority for us.

“We will also be working on strengthening the connections between membership and education by engaging with new students as they commence their education and continue to offer development as they progress their career. It is exciting times and we have a number of opportunities to deliver fantastic results and truly become the first choice for professionals in Supply Chain, Logistics & Transport.”
