Call for Papers: Contribute to the Future of Nigeria’s Blue Economy

CILT Nigeria invites paper submissions for its 2025 Conference on logistics and sustainability in the Blue Economy, held in Lagos this October.

CILT Nigeria is now inviting submissions for the 2025 National Conference and Annual General Meeting, which will be held from 22 to 23 October 2025 at the Civic Centre in Lagos State. With the theme “Enhancing Logistics and Transport for Sustainable Blue Economy in Nigeria,” this year’s event will bring together academics, researchers, and industry leaders to explore innovative strategies that drive sustainable growth in marine-based sectors.

This is an opportunity to share cutting-edge research and practical insights across a broad range of sub-themes, including:

  • Sustainable logistics and transportation in the Blue Economy

  • Managing marine resources for economic growth and environmental sustainability

  • The role of transportation and logistics in climate-resilient infrastructure and supply chains

  • Enhancing international cooperation and governance for Blue Economy ecosystem services

  • Innovations in logistics and transport technologies to balance economic growth with environmental responsibility

  • Advancements in marine transportation and logistics for Blue Economy development

  • Strategic approaches to managing competing uses of marine resources, including fishing, tourism, and energy production

  • Commercial aspects of logistics and transport as Blue Economy services, including standards, ethics, cost structures, and operating environments

Important Dates

  • Abstract submission deadline: 30 June 2025

  • Notification of accepted abstracts: 14 July 2025

  • Full paper submission deadline: 1 July 2025 (Authors are encouraged to prepare full papers alongside abstracts)

  • Extended paper submission deadline: 20 August 2025

Submission Guidelines

  • Abstracts should not exceed 300 words, formatted in Times New Roman, size 12, single-spaced

  • Full papers must not exceed 12 pages (excluding the title page)

  • Submissions should cite recent and unpublished work where possible, using APA referencing style

  • Tables, figures, and photographs are welcomed

  • Authors of accepted papers are required to register for the conference

Conference Fees

  • Early bird registration (CILT members): ₦80,000

  • Non-members: ₦85,000
