Celebrating Excellence: The CILT Performance Award Presented to Middle East Logistics High Institute (MELI)
At CILT International, we are proud to recognise organisations that excel in advancing the logistics, transport, and supply chain sectors. Last year, we were delighted to honour the Middle East Logistics High Institute (MELI) with the prestigious CILT Performance Award.
This accolade celebrates MELI’s outstanding 15-year partnership with CILT, during which time they have trained an impressive 2,300 students with globally recognised qualifications. Their unwavering dedication to fostering professional excellence has cemented their reputation as a leader in the Arabian Gulf region.
The Award Presentation
Our Education Strategy Lead, Ruth Francis, had the privilege of presenting the award to the MELI team during her visit to Saudi Arabia. This momentous occasion took place alongside the 6th Annual Saudi Supply Chain Conference in Riyadh, where logistics and supply chain leaders from around the globe gathered to exchange knowledge and discuss the latest advancements in the industry.

Ruth Francis also participated in the Women in Logistics forum, led by Amer Badarneh, CMILT, of MELI. In her contribution, Ruth emphasised the importance of transitioning from equality to equity, calling for more efforts to empower women and unlock their full potential in the logistics and transport industries.
High-Level Panel Discussion
A notable panel discussion featured Berna AKYILDIZ, FCILT, President of CILT Türkiye, who shared her expertise and vision for the future of global supply chains.
Keynote Speech by Michael Bourlakis
Michael Bourlakis, International Vice President (IVP) and Trustee of CILT, delivered an insightful keynote on the transformative role of artificial intelligence in supply chains. His address explored how AI is reshaping operational efficiency and decision-making in the sector.
