CILT International Secretariat Update: ZCILT
Dear CILT Community,
It is with deep regret The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) acknowledges it has been unable to reach an agreement with the Zambia Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (ZCILT) about their becoming an Affiliated Organisation of the Institute.
The founding of ZCILT through the ZCILT Act No.4 of 2014 annulled the Delegation Agreement with CILT. Following this, both parties have been in discussions to collaborate and work within the constraints imposed by respectively the Act and the Royal Charter but sadly it has not been possible to agree a path to work together.
The discussions were carried out in good faith and the Institute believes they were fair and reflected fully the realities and operational constraints of the two organisations’ governing documents.
The CILT’s purpose is to promote, encourage and co-ordinate the study of the science and art of logistics and transport in all aspects, and in no way wishes to exclude members of the Supply Chain, Logistics and Transportation Professions in Zambia from the wider global Institute and existing members of ZCILT are warmly welcomed to remain in the CILT family.
The post nominals MILT, CMILT or FCILT can only be used by CILT members as these relate exclusively to the Royal Charter which does not cover members of ZCILT.
If you have any questions, please contact the CILT International Secretariat on info@ciltinternational.org.
