Empowering the Future of Freight Forwarding and Customs: Join CILT South Africa’s Internship Programme

Empowering the next generation in supply chain, logistics, and transportation is a responsibility we all share, to create a brighter, more efficient future for our industry. To further this mission, CILT South Africa is offering a unique opportunity for businesses to partner in shaping the future workforce of the freight forwarding and customs sector.
In collaboration with Advanced Assessments & Training, CILT South Africa has launched an internship programme designed to equip unemployed young people with the practical skills, industry experience, and regulatory knowledge they need to transition into the workforce with confidence and purpose.
A Call for Partnership: Host an Intern and Invest in the Future
CILT South Africa is inviting businesses to join the initiative by hosting interns for a 12-month period. By participating, companies will help develop the next generation of skilled professionals, contributing to the broader efficiency and compliance of the freight forwarding and customs industries. Interns will receive in-depth training on customs and freight regulations, international trade policies, and industry compliance before being deployed to assist your team. The training prepares them to take on tasks such as shipment registrations, customs declaration processing, data capturing, and other important logistics duties.
How Will Your Business Benefit?
By hosting an intern through this programme, your company can:
- Develop Future Talent: Mentor young professionals who could become integral members of your team.
- Improve Operational Efficiency: Interns will assist with day-to-day operations, freeing up your team to focus on strategic activities.
- Contribute to Industry Growth: Help build a workforce that upholds high standards of compliance and service within the freight and logistics sector.
The interns, who will have undergone intensive block training before joining your business, will be ready to assist in key logistics tasks. This partnership is an excellent opportunity for businesses to invest in future industry talent while gaining valuable support in return.
