Enhancing Togo’s Transport and Logistics: Representing CILT in Togo

CILT President met Togo's Prime Minister to discuss establishing a CILT branch, supporting logistics and transport growth, aligning with Togo 2025, and enhancing professional development.

On February 28, 2025, Togo’s Prime Minister, Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé, engaged in a pivotal discussion with Chief Teete OWUSU-NORTEY, FCILT, FGIPS, the President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT). The meeting centered on the potential establishment of a CILT representation in Togo, aiming to bolster the nation’s transport and logistics sectors.

Chief Teete OWUSU-NORTEY, FCILT, FGIPS expressed honor in meeting the Prime Minister, noting her keen interest in strengthening the capacities of professionals in logistics, transport, and connectivity. He highlighted CILT’s century-long global presence, emphasising the desire to extend its expertise to Togo, thereby unlocking the country’s vast potential in these domains.

This initiative aligns with the “WiLAT Day 2025,” organised by Women in Logistics and Transport (WiLAT) Togo in collaboration with WIMAFRICA. The event served as a platform for professionals to deliberate on innovative and sustainable infrastructure solutions. Key discussions addressed the challenges of multimodal transport, investment opportunities, technological advancements, and public policies essential for enhancing Togo’s transport competitiveness. These efforts resonate with the government’s Togo 2025 roadmap, which aspires to modernise transport infrastructures and improve regional connectivity.
