Ruth Melody Mbabazi CMILT Appointed President of CILT Rwanda
CILT International is pleased to welcome Ruth Melody Mbabazi CMILT as the newly elected President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Rwanda.
Her appointment marks an important milestone for CILT Rwanda, with Ruth becoming the first woman to lead the Institute in the country.
Bringing Extensive Industry Experience
Ruth brings more than a decade of professional experience across logistics, supply chain management, freight forwarding, commercial strategy and international trade.
Before her election as President, she served as Vice President of CILT Rwanda and as Chairperson of Women in Logistics and Transport Rwanda, where her work focused on professional excellence, collaboration, capacity building and supporting the advancement of women across the profession.
Professionally, Ruth works within the critical minerals sector, leading supply chain and commercial strategies that support regional and international trade. Her experience includes supply chain strategy, business development, international trade and sustainable logistics, with a focus on strengthening partnerships and improving the efficiency of value chains.
Supporting Professional Development
Professional development has also been a significant part of Ruth’s contribution to CILT.
As a CILT accredited Trainer of Trainers, she is actively involved in mentoring and developing the next generation of logistics and transport professionals. She also hosts the CILT Africa Podcast, creating a platform for knowledge sharing and discussion around emerging trends, opportunities and challenges affecting transport, logistics and supply chains across Africa.
Looking Ahead for CILT Rwanda
As a Chartered Member of CILT, Ruth has identified professional excellence, ethical leadership, innovation, digital transformation and sustainable supply chain practices as important areas of focus.
Under her leadership, CILT Rwanda aims to strengthen collaboration between industry, academia and government, expand professional education and membership, empower future logistics leaders and contribute to the continued development of resilient and competitive supply chains.
