Jan Steenberg FCILTInternational President

A long-standing member of CILT, Jan joined the Institute in 1995, driven by a desire to connect with like-minded professionals, develop his skills and be part of a global professional community. Now President of CILT International, Jan brings a proven track record within the supply chain sector and extensive experience of Institute leadership, having previously served as Honorary Secretary, supporting Trustees and helping shape strategies, policies and governance that add value to members and strengthen the organisation. 

When I became a member of the Institute in 1995, my purpose was to join a professional community, improve my skills and network with like-minded people and that is exactly what the Institute continues to represent. 

What also drew me to the Institute was the fact that it is a charity and works on a not-for-profit basis to support its members, with every penny reinvested into maintaining and building the organisation. That principle remains incredibly important to me. 

During my career in supply chain management, having held director-level positions for more than 15 years, the Institute has been an invaluable partner on my journey. It has helped keep me connected to the latest thinking and supported me in raising standards for the people and organisations I have worked with.
