Kim is an international freight consultant whose career began in mathematics and statistics before he joined the Bureau of Transport Economics in Canberra in 1987. He later spent 16 years with Australia Post and has held an affiliation with the Infrastructure Engineering Department at the University of Melbourne since 2002.

Over the past 20 years, Kim has undertaken major projects with government and industry agencies, focusing on freight productivity, safety and network restructuring.

He holds a PhD in logistics productivity, a Master’s degree in transport efficiency and several logistics qualifications. He is currently developing a series of specialist short micro credentials in Logistics Analysis and Planning.

Alongside his professional work, Kim chairs CILT Australia’s National Education and Professional Development desk.
