Romesh David FCILTPresident Elect
Romesh first became involved with CILT in 2001, at the encouragement of a friend and industry colleague. Since then, he has greatly valued the opportunity to connect with professionals from across the logistics and transport sector through their shared membership of the Institute.
Throughout a career spanning virtually all modes and aspects of passenger and freight transport, Romesh has benefited from access to professional colleagues, business leaders and academic experts, not only in Sri Lanka but across more than 30 countries. He considers these connections to have played an invaluable role in both his professional and personal development. The ability to engage with a community ranging from students and new entrants to professors, chief executives, functional experts and global thought leaders, across different disciplines and geographies, is what he regards as the hallmark and unique proposition of CILT membership.
At a time when the industry is evolving digitally at a phenomenal pace, Romesh looks forward with great anticipation and excitement to working with CILT organisations and leadership teams around the world to grow the global community in both relevance and scale.
A Chartered Fellow and the new President Elect of CILT, Romesh is a former International Vice President of the Institute and served as a Global Advisor to WiLAT, Women in Logistics and Transport, until 2023. He is currently Chair of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Sectoral Committee on Transport and Logistics, Immediate Past President of the Indo Lanka Chamber of Commerce, and was a founding member of the IFC Women in Work High Level Advocacy Group in Sri Lanka.
