The seventh China International Logistics Development Conference will be held from 14th – 15th September 2020 at the Tangshan Southlake Convention and Exhibition Center. The theme of this year’s event is Joint response to challenges, mutual learning and innovative development.

Registration will open on 13th September and the Leaders of Tangshan Municipal Government will meet with guests in the evening.

The main forum will commence with the opening ceremony on the morning of 14th September. The President of CCTA, Dato’ Ts Abd Radzak Abd Malek, President of CILT International, the leader of the National Development and Reform Commission, the leader of Hebei Provincial Government, and the leader of Tangshan Municipal Government will deliver welcoming addresses.

The Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of
Industry and Information Technology, the State Post Bureau, the
State Port Administration Office, the National Railway Group Co.
LTD., experts and scholars at home and abroad, and leaders of well-known enterprises will then deliver speeches on the development of the logistics industry.

The afternoon is reserved for sub forums, business negotiations, project recommnedations and a signing ceremony.

The first sub forum is  The Port Co-operation and Port Construction
Forum which will focus around the topics of belt and road, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy to optimise port layout, clear port function orientation, promotion of national port and logistics hub, infrastructure construction, expansion of port hinterland, improvement of  port safety and convenience systems, promotion of new technology applications in electronic port and smart port construction, cross-border e-commerce development, and port city economic cooperation.

The Logistics Industry High-Quality Development Forum will centre on the demand for cost reduction and enhanced efficiency, and the industrial upgrading of China’s logistics industry. This forum will discuss the topics of logistics hub construction, urban and rural logistics system construction, and integration of industrial chains. Representatives of national advanced logistics enterprises will deliver speeches.

The Supply Chain Finance Service of Bulk Commodity Forum will focus on supply chain finance to help bulk commodity services upgrade and promote the development of the steel industry towards industrial chain clusters. The forum will consider how does the supply chain financial service platform break the information isolated island in the industrial chain? And how to make the credit and trust value of core enterprises unimpeded in the chain, and solve the financing problem of small and
medium-size enterprise in the industrial chain.

In the evening, Li Tong, Chairperson of WiLAT China invites WiLAT members to join the 4th WiLAT China Forum. The WiLAT Forum will include:

  • a presentation by WiLAT Global Chairperson Ms.Gayani de Alwis on the “Three Year Plan and Objectives of WiLAT”
  • a speech by Immediate Past WiLAT Global Chairperson, Dr. Chan Yuen Tak Fai Dorothy on “Post Covid-19 Opportunities for Women”
  • a presentation by Vice Chairperson of WiLAT China, Ms. Qian Yu, Chairperson of Brambles Investment (China) Co. Ltd. on “Female Leadership in an Uncertain World”

On 15th September delegates will have an opportunity to visit Caofeidian and Tangshan port.

This year CILT international delegates will be able to join the event digitally, free of charge, on Monday 14th September through an online conference video stream with bilingual English and Chinese subtitles.
