After the success of the first two European Supply Chain Days, the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) is pleased to announce that European Supply Chain Day 2016 will take place on April 21st.
The inaugural European Supply Chain Day took place in April 2014, with logistics-themed events taking place across Europe on the same day, held under the umbrella of the European Logistics Association (ELA). CILT, as the UK’s nominated member association within the ELA, will once again be the primary contact point for all UK-based Supply Chain Day activities.
European Supply Chain Day is a unique and exciting opportunity to raise awareness of the logistics and supply chain profession and CILT encourage all levels of participation in this event. As with the past two years, CILT are working with industry and educational providers to ensure that there is a well promoted, varied program of events throughout the UK.
The evolving event program can be viewed here.
How does it work?
Supply Chain Day is always on the third Thursday in April and was initiated by German based BVL International with the support of various associations and organisations. The motto for Supply Chain Day is “Logistics paves the way”. All companies and institutions active in the field of logistics and supply chain management are encouraged to organise events: All events must be free of charge for visitors but assistance is available from CILT should registration be necessary.
In 2015 over 38,500 participants visited more than 450 events in at least 20 countries.
