Steve Rinsler and Ben Waller discuss the physical internet, explore how it could work, and explain why it is not just jargon and hype…

In their recorded conversation, Steve and Ben set out to demystify the physical internet and explain what the internet of things can do to transport and logistics. They highlight some of the learnings from the *ICONET project and set out a vision for the future and the mechanisms that will enable logistics providers to make this vision a reality.

Ben is a freelance writer, consultant, and occasional lecturer, with over twenty years of experience in supply chain research and consultancy, primarily in the automotive sector.

Stephen is a lifetime supply chain and procurement logistician who has run large supply chains in Unilever from forecasting and procurement through demand and factory planning to warehousing and distribution. He was a Director of Exel Logistics (DHL) and now is a Director of Bisham Consulting. Passionate about education and learning he has chaired both CILT UK and CILT International.

The conversation with Steve and Ben will be released on the CILT YouTube channel, in the Publications section of the international website, and via CILT international social media channels on Wednesday 24 November.
