Our fourteenth international webinar will take place on Wednesday 3rd February at 12:00 GMT. During the session, which examines the  Role of Sustainability in a Post Covid Era, our Next Generation Forum will share their experiences and knowledge with the wider CILT community.

The session will be hosted by Emma Ross, Global Chairperson of the Next Generation Forum. Emma is currently bringing together the next generation of future leaders and contributors to our profession to develop a best in class offering for our members across the world.

Emma is a logistics professional with a demonstrated history of working in the logistics and supply chain industry. She is passionate about supporting the perception of our profession through volunteer work with CILT and being a positive contributor to the profession.

After graduating from Heriot-Watt University with a Masters in Logistics and Supply Chain Management Emma moved into operations management within FMCG. With a background in both operations and consulting Emma is experienced in Negotiation, Operations Management, Warehouse Operations, Management, and Continuous Improvement.

Guest Speaker Dr Philipp Sauer from Italy will discuss The Resilience of Supply Chain Sustainability: Evidence from a Multiple Case Study in Europe During the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Philipp is an Assistant Professor in Management Engineering at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano. He holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Management Engineering and a PhD in Supply Chain Management with highest honors (summa cum laude) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Stefan Seuring. His research focusses on multi-tier supply chain management, sustainability management, circular economy as well as certification. He has received the Harry Boer Best Paper Award 2020 and was awarded Highly Commended winner of the 2020 Emerald/EFMD Outstanding Doctoral Research Award.

Philipp’s work has been published in internationally leading journals such as the International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of Business Ethics, and Supply Chain Management: An International Journal.

Guest Speaker Megan Yeates from Ireland will discuss her experiences of sustainable logistics in a post Covid world.

Megan is ambitious and motivated, which is clear from her biggest achievement to date – winning the Gold medal at the inaugural Freight Forwarding Competition at WorldSkills Kazan in 2019. She is now ranked number one in the world as a result.

Megan is currently working within the Logistics Project Team for Lidl Ireland, after joining as a graduate in September 2019. Her background includes a 1st class honours BSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from TU Dublin, and previous experience working with DHL Global Forwarding. She is currently Honorary Secretary for CILT Ireland, Eastern Section.
