CILT Langfang Conference 2026 strengthens global collaboration across supply chain, logistics and transportation
The second CILT Langfang Conference brought together nearly 300 delegates from 21 countries and regions for three days of discussion, collaboration and international engagement in Langfang, China.
Held from 16 to 18 June, the conference welcomed industry leaders, government representatives and professionals from across the global supply chain, logistics and transportation community to explore the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of the sector. Discussions centred on digital transformation, supply chain resilience, sustainability and international cooperation.
Looking ahead to the future of the profession
CILT International President Jan Steenberg FCILT led the Institute’s participation throughout the conference, delivering the keynote address at the main forum. In his speech, he highlighted the need for the profession to embrace digitalisation, accelerate the transition towards greener logistics and continue strengthening supply chain resilience in an increasingly complex global environment. He also reaffirmed CILT International’s commitment to supporting collaboration across borders through professional development, knowledge exchange and industry partnerships.
Reflecting on the importance of turning discussion into meaningful progress, Jan said:
The real question, and indeed the very purpose of this conference, is how we translate them into concrete action and tangible results.
Global Top 50 report launched
One of the highlights of the conference was the launch of the Global Top 50 Enterprises in Logistics and Transport 2026 report. Presented by CILT International, the report examines the evolving global logistics landscape and explores the trends shaping the sector, including digital transformation, resilience, sustainability and the continued evolution of international supply chains.
The report also highlighted the growing strength of China’s logistics sector and the increasing importance of operational quality, innovation and long term resilience as organisations respond to an increasingly dynamic global trading environment.
Strengthening international partnerships
Alongside the conference programme, CILT International representatives met with senior representatives from the Langfang Municipal Government, the Hebei Provincial Department of Commerce and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Hebei Council (CCPIT Hebei). Discussions focused on strengthening international collaboration, supporting talent development and encouraging closer cooperation between industry, government and the global CILT community.
The conference also provided valuable opportunities for delegates to exchange knowledge, build new relationships and explore practical approaches to the opportunities and challenges facing the logistics, transport and supply chain profession.
