The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) is proud to open nominations for the prestigious roles of Global Chair and Deputy Global Chair of our Next Generation Forum. These voluntary positions offer a unique and exciting opportunity for professionals to step into leadership on a global stage and help shape the future of the supply chain, logistics and transportation sectors.
The Next Generation Forum represents CILT’s commitment to engaging, supporting and elevating early-career professionals. It is a platform for emerging voices to contribute meaningfully to the strategic direction of our global organisation, and to inspire innovation, collaboration and community across borders.
Global Chair
The Global Chair of the Next Generation Forum leads the Steering Committee and acts as the principal representative of the Forum within CILT International. This is a key leadership role that involves:

Setting the agenda for global Next Gen activities

Coordinating international projects
-
Advocating for young professionals in CILT’s global decision-making bodies
-
Representing the Forum at international events and meetings, including:

Council of Trustees (CoT)
-
International Management Committee (IMC)
-
International Conventions and Regional Forums
-
Deputy Global Chair
The Deputy Global Chair supports the Chair in delivering their duties and leads in their absence. The Deputy is also responsible for administrative coordination, continuity, and supporting regional engagement across the Forum.
The Chair and Deputy work closely to build unity, grow the Next Generation network, and drive initiatives that bring lasting value to both members and the Institute.

The Next Generation Steering Committee comprises regional representatives from:

East Asia

Europe & UK

South Asia

South East Asia
As Chair or Deputy, you will work across this global structure, connecting cultures, experiences, and ideas to build a more inclusive and representative future for CILT.
Who Should Apply?
We are looking for candidates who:

Are aged 35 or under
-
Have held Affiliate or Non-Chartered Membership of CILT for 5 years or less
-
Have at least 2 years’ experience in the supply chain, logistics or transport industries
-
Have already contributed to Next Generation leadership in their country
-
Are endorsed by both their Next Generation executive committee and their National Council or Board
The Chair and Deputy must come from different regions to ensure geographical balance and diverse representation.

CILT International will cover expenses related to duties performed at their request. Other participation costs are expected to be supported by the candidate’s home country.

Nominations must be submitted by 30th June 2025 and must include:

A written endorsement from your country’s Next Generation executive committee

A written recommendation from your CILT Branch or Territory National Council

Why you are suited to the role

Your vision for the Forum in the broader CILT context

How you will promote and grow the Next Generation movement globally

How you will represent the voice of early-career professionals
