CILT Next Generation launches inaugural edition of The Headway Global
CILT Next Generation has launched the inaugural edition of The Headway Global, a new publication bringing together the experiences, ideas and perspectives of emerging professionals from across the global logistics, transport and supply chain community.
Led by CILT Next Generation Global Chairperson Dianah Nassimbwa MILT and the publication’s international editorial team, The Headway Global has been created as a platform for young professionals to share knowledge, celebrate achievements and contribute to conversations shaping the future of the profession.
A platform for emerging professional voices
The first edition reflects the breadth of the CILT Next Generation network, with contributions spanning professional development, leadership, technology, sustainability and the changing demands facing logistics and transport professionals around the world.
Alongside regional news and activity from across the CILT network, the magazine features the experiences of young professionals building careers across logistics, transport, procurement, supply chain and related disciplines. It also explores emerging industry issues including artificial intelligence, sustainable logistics, global health supply chains and new approaches to professional development.
Dianah describes the publication as part of CILT Next Generation’s ambition to build a stronger global community of empowered young professionals, providing a space where members can tell their stories, share knowledge, recognise achievement and engage with ideas influencing the future of the profession.
Leadership perspectives from across CILT
The inaugural edition also brings together perspectives from CILT’s international leadership.
CILT International President Jan Steenberg FCILT challenges young professionals to recognise that participation alone is not enough. As he writes:
A seat at the table creates an opportunity; the ideas and solutions brought to that table create the impact.
His contribution explores the growing role of Next Generation within CILT, from contributing to strategic discussions and embracing new technology to strengthening connections between students, young professionals and experienced members across the global Institute.
The edition also includes contributions from Immediate Past International President Chief Teete Owusu Nortey FCILT and WiLAT Global Chairperson Doreen Owusu Fianko FCILT, alongside stories and activity from CILT members and Next Generation communities across Africa, Asia and beyond.
Stories from the global Next Generation community
Throughout the publication, young professionals share their career journeys, achievements and experiences of working across different areas of the profession.
The edition also showcases activity taking place across the wider Next Generation network, from career development and university engagement to technical visits, industry events and regional initiatives.
Together, these stories offer a snapshot of how emerging professionals are already contributing to logistics, transport and supply chain across different countries, sectors and career stages.
Looking to the future
For Dianah and the wider Next Generation community, the publication is ultimately about giving emerging professionals greater opportunity to contribute today, rather than simply viewing them as the leaders of tomorrow.
As CILT Next Generation continues to grow its international network, The Headway Global offers another platform for members to connect, share ideas and make their voices part of the wider conversation about the future of logistics, transport and supply chain.
