On the 6th January, our Women in Logistics and Transport (WiLAT) forum, celebrated their first New Year event in the WiLAT Global Event Calendar. Attendance of the online event was represented by the 38 territories WiLAT are currently present in.
Our WiLAT Global Chairperson – Gayani de Alwis, FCILT welcomed the gathering with an inspiring new year message and vision in brief for 2023.
Goodwill messages were also shared by President, CILT International- Paul Sainthouse, FCILT, Immediate Past Global Chairperson – Dorothy Chan, FCILT, Global Vice Chairperson (GVC) Central Asia- Marina Kuznechevskaya, FCILT, President, International Business Forum- Finbarr Cleary, FCILT, Next Generation- Usman Shaibu, CMILT, Head of WiLAT Capacity Building Centre – Vicky Koo, FCILT and CILT Intl. President- Elect – Chief Teete OWUSU- FCILT. We take with us so much inspiration to make this year a resounding success at WiLAT.
Although our First WiLAT Global Convener, Aisha Ali Ibrahim, FCILT was sadly unable to join in the celebrations. We would like to extend a special thanks to Aisha for forming WiLAT and for her continued contributions.
All territories came together with beautiful performances to share joy and excitement for 2023. We witnessed performances from Sri Lanka, Central Asia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar and Africa demonstrating the rich culture and traditions of their countries.
The event today was moderated by our WiLAT Global Media Coordinator Amra Zareer, CMILT.
