We are very pleased the announce the official launch of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Turkiye branch. The first ordinary general assembly meeting was held on March 11th 2023, at the Hilton Bomonti Hotel, hosted by CILT corporate member ICA YSS. The meeting was opened with a speech from the President of CILT International, Paul Sainthouse.
In November 2022, the Ministry of Internal Affairs approved the CILT Turkiye branch, among 135 foreign non-governmental organizations that exist in Turkiye and became one of the 19 organisations to get branch status. Additionally, CILT Turkiye is the only non-governmental organisation branch working in the field of logistics and transportation.
The establishment of CILT Turkiye is of utmost importance, as Turkiye serves as a middle corridor and a transit centre. As the founding President of CILT Turkiye, Berna Akyildiz, stated during the meeting, “the development and strengthening of the logistics and transportation sector is extremely important for Turkiye.”
The general assembly meeting was attended by leading institutions and individuals of the logistics and transportation sector, as corporate and individual members. The CILT Turkiye branch will accelerate its activities with the vision of moving the transportation and logistics sector to the future.
