Welcoming Our New International President

It is with great pleasure we announce the new CILT International President, Chief Teete OWUSU-NORTEY FCILT.

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport has over 32,000 members and branches in over 38 countries and continues to grow. As a provider of professional learning through its robust global education charity it has a strong focus on growing its network for both Women in Logistics and Transport (WILAT) and for Next Generation (NG) leaders in the industry.

First African President of the Institute

Chief Teete has been a member of CILT Ghana for nearly 30 years, and has held various positions including, International Vice President representing Africa and Chair of the Africa Forum, International Ambassador and until his appointment as the International President Elect, he was a Special Advisor on the Council of Trustees’.

Chief Teete is the first African President of the Institute since 1919.

Chief Teete said “My predecessors have laid a solid foundation for CILT to continue to be a leading voice for every professional in our industry. I therefore, see my role as the Conductor of a seasoned orchestra and I will work diligently to ensure that every instrument is able to play its part in creating the harmonious song that will propel us to the next level. In the words of John C. Maxwell: “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.” It is an honour to serve the CILT Global Community at this moment in time.”

Welcoming our New International President Elect

Chief Teete is joined by new President Elect Jan Steenberg FCILT, who has been part of CILT since 1995. He has a wealth of experience both within the Institute, as a Trustee and Chair of International Education Standard Committee, and is globally recognised in his professional capacity as a leader in supply chain management solutions.

Together, we are confident the Institute will continue to flourish through the work and guidance of our new President and President Elect and our wider CILT community.

A Farewell to Paul Sainthouse FCILT

We would like to take this opportunity to recognise and celebrate the legacy of past CILT International President, Paul Sainthouse FCILT, whose two-year Presidency concluded at the end of the 2023.

Paul’s unwavering dedication to CILT International has seen the Institute grow from strength to strength, supporting its global communities and their commitment to the transport, logistics and supply chain sectors.

To the Future of CILT

Speaking on his Presidency, Paul remarked, “CILT has never be more relevent, more purposeful and more needed by global society than now, and I have been very proud to lead the Institute whilst our members shape the future of transport and logistics in a new era. I am very proud to have made a contribution to ensuring CILT is fit for purpose in its second century of existance.

“And to my friend and successor, Chief Teete, I wish a successful and productive Presidential term. We have achieved so much most recently but there is still far more to do, and I have every confidence in your ability to wear your chain of office very well.”

From us all at CILT, we wish Paul well in his future endeavours and thank him for his hard work and efforts, alongside our Trustees and wider CILT network, in helping the Institute prosper.
